Talihina stays alive with win over Wilburton

OKEMAH—Talihina moved one game closer to another trip to the state tournament with a 65-52 win over Black Diamond Conference opponent Wilburton Friday in a Class 2A consolation game.

Talihina (23-5) plays Minco here Saturday at 8 p.m. with the winner advancing to the state tournament.

The Golden Tigers outscored the Diggers 31-19 over the middle two quarters to build a commanding lead.

Kobe Billy led Talihina with 18 points, Austin Fenton added 16 and Kyler Baugh scored 13.

Wilburton (15-14) was led by Kyle McAlester’s 20 points.
