Green, Pirates rout Roland

ROLAND—Jackson Green hit a grand slam and Poteau stayed perfect in District 4A play Monday with a 20-5 win at Roland.

The Pirates improve to 15-7 overall, 9-0 in district play. Poteau has a 2 ½ game lead over Broken Bow for the district championship. Roland falls to 5-7 and 5-6.

The two teams play again Tuesday in Poteau.

Green had the grand slam and doubled while going 3-3 with six RBI and three runs to lead Poteau at the plate. Jagger Dill also doubled and went 2-2 with two runs and a RBI; Mason Barcheers had a double while going 2-2 with two RBI; Carson Cheek was 2-2 with three runs and two RBI; and Peyton Owens finished 2-4 with two runs and a RBI.

Christian Duncan got the win for Poteau, going three innings with three hits, three runs (two earned) with three strikeouts and two walks. Green pitched the final two innings, allowing two hits and two runs (one earned) with two strikeouts and a walk.
