Cameron wins twice in Shootout

WEBBERS FALLS—Cameron won both its games Friday in the Arkansas River Shootout here.

Cameron’s boys advanced to the championship game against Whitesboro with a 53-43 win over LeFlore while the Lady Jackets downed Watts, 66-44, in consolation play.

Whitesboro’s girls also advanced to the championship game with a 37-30 win over LeFlore. The Bulldogs defeated Cave Springs, 81-46.

Boys

Cameron sealed the win by outscoring the Savages 21-13 in the semifinal contest. Cameron (9-6) had a big advantage in free throws, making 19-30 while LeFlore was only 2-5.

The Jackets were led by L.T. Booth with 16 points, Parker Cooper had 11 and Kolby McGee finished with 10.

LeFlore (7-7) got 19 points from Jett Carver and 12 from Kalobe Hudlow.

Girls

Whitesboro outscored LeFlore 17-10 in the fourth quarter to get the win. The Lady Bulldogs trailed 20-13 at halftime before holding the Lady Savages scoreless in the third quarter.

Lizzie LeMay led Whitesboro (12-4) with 10 points. LeFlore (10-4) got 12 points from Haylee Newman.

Cameron overcame an early deficit to down Watts. The Lady Jackets (9-6) were led by Brooke McCormack with 11 points while Hannah McCormack added 10.

Watts (5-6) got 13 points from Kayla Arogon and 12 from Haley Halbridge.
