Heavener students attend alt ed day at the capitol

Heavener alternative education students Morgan Cooper, Ashlynn Lusk and Jamie Roach recently attended alt ed day at the capitol.

The group met with Rep. Lundy Kiger and watched two hours of the legislative session. Kiger introduced the group.

The purpose of alt ed day was to have teachers, administrators, students and parents show their support and to inform legislators about the difference the program makes to students and that providing funding to sustain these programs is a critical component of meeting the educational goals for Oklahoma.
