Heavener Lions Club Carnival is Saturday

Heavener’s biggest event of the year will once again take place Saturday as hundreds of people will form in downtown for the annual Heavener Lions Club Carnival.

The event starts at 6 p.m. The Heavener tradition has been going on for well over 50 years and East First Street will be blocked off from C Street to D Street.

There will again be bingo, a cakewalk, bouncearounds, games for the young and old, and lots of food from hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork to funnel fries.

The crowning of the queens will happen at 6 p.m. on a stage in front of the old city hall.

This the Lions Club’s only fundraiser for the year. The Club uses proceeds to purchase glasses for people who can’t afford them, along with supplying coats and cold weather clothing for children in Heavener, Hodgen, Howe and Monroe.
