CASC students compete at Invitational

Five Carl Albert State College students competed in seven events at the Oklahoma Speech Theatre Communications Association (OSTCA) Invitational at Rogers State University in Claremore Saturday.

Two first-time competitors brought home three medals to CASC. Lucinda Roberts (second place prose, third place Impromptu) and Drake McKerall (second place Impromptu).

CASC competitors included Desi Dees of Muldrow, Alayna Fielder of Idabel, Jacob Howell of Red Oak, Drake McKerall of Shady Point and Lucinda Roberts of Yanush.

“We are so proud of our team,” said CASC Speech and Debate coach, Shirley Harrod Yandell. “They worked hard and fearlessly, competing against juniors and seniors from four-year universities in Oklahoma. It is truly an honor watching them and working with them.”

The CASC Speech and Debate Team is a club/organization open to CASC students enrolled in six or more credit hours per semester. The club welcomes anyone to their weekly meetings.
