Burr receives Kiamichi Tech student of the month
TALIHINA--Kiamichi Technology Centers, Talihina Campus nominated Marty Burr, a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning student, as the September student of the month.
He received a cashier’s check from Klancy Walker, branch manager at The Community State Bank-Talihina branch.
When asked what he enjoys most at Kiamichi Tech - Talihina, he stated, “I enjoy learning how to use the power tools to build things in my HVAC program.”
Burr has completed the Microburst EmployABILITY soft skills program and is a current work-study. The staff is thankful to have him on campus. He has almost perfect attendance and shows initiative.
“It is a privilege to have students like Marty at Kiamichi Tech. His dedication to his program and his job is appreciated,” said Amanda Dedmon, Student Services Specialist at KTC Talihina.
Kiamichi Technology Centers has played an integral role in southeastern Oklahoma communities since 1968, serving ten full and three partial counties. KTC is one of 29 districts in the Oklahoma CareerTech system with more than 30 career programs. KTC also offers a wide variety of evening and weekend short-term courses as well as certifications in many diverse career fields. KTC serves nearly 23,000 individuals each year, including many area companies who receive training through the Business and Industry Services division that works with over 400 businesses annually.
