Obituary for Hattie K. Clark
Hattie K. Folsom Clark, 97, went to live with her Savior on March 14, 2019. K. would tell you, “I just changed addresses!” She slipped away from this world quietly in her sleep into Heaven to finally see the face of her Savior.
Hattie K. married George Clark Jan. 1, 1942. George joined the Army and they traveled the world as they raised three children: Gene (Marilyn) Clark, Tish (Larry) Clark LaMaack, and Beverly “Sam” Clark Hale.
These children gave her six grandchildren Chris Davis, Tiffany Davis (Jason) Heisler, Deborah LaMaack Mangrum, Christy (Todd) LaMaack Downing, Rebecca LaMaack Schwartz and Raven (Shelby) Hale Anderson; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Jo; twelve great grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; two nieces; many cousins; and nephews.
She had special relationships with several of her Wilson cousins, George’s siblings and their mates and children, who were loving and lifelong friends.
She loved family history. Hattie K was related to the Folsoms, Wilsons, DeHarts, Hall’s, Heaveners and the LeFlores. She had wonderful stories to tell anyone who would listen.
She volunteered for several causes and was always one of the first to empty her freezer during storms or crisis and volunteered at the drug rehab in Watonga for approximately 11 years where she taught the Twelve Step and Literacy programs.
She did two things exceptionally well. She taught the word of God unto salvation as a Sunday school and Bible study teacher everywhere she lived and showed love to all who crossed her path. More than once she said, “I want to be remembered as one who tried to give Jesus away to everyone she met.”
Hattie K’s ashes will be put to rest at the Heavener Memorial Cemetery on Highway 59 at a graveside service July 26, 2019 at 11a.m. Anybody wanting to join us as we remember this wonderful woman of God is very welcome.
Assistant Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Rev. Sam Dyer, will officiate.
