Early voting begins today
Early voting begins today for elections in 34 counties, including LeFlore County.
County election boards will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
In LeFlore County, elections will be held for Bokoshe Public Schools and the Town of Shady Point.
In Shady Point, voters will choose a Board of Trustees (unexpired term) seat. Candidates include Jessica Castillo, Kenneth Gaukel or Justin Cruse.
In Bokoshe, voters are deciding on a bond election for the school.
According to the school district, there is no projected tax increase for the $270,000 school bond issue.
The bond is to renovate, repair and remodel the gymnasium. Renovations include restrooms, locker rooms, the concession stand and fire alarm system.
The bond would also go toward security improvements district-wide, including replacing doors and door hardware.
The bond would also be used for an HVAC district-wide as needed.
Regular voting is 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12.
