Bokoshe man injured in horse, auto accident

A Bokoshe man was injured Saturday when the horse he was driving was struck by a 2008 Ford Focus.

Justin Roberge, 29, of Bokoshe was riding a horse on County Road 210 approximately two miles north of Panama when the horse he was riding was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Kiana Cissell, 20, of Pocola.

Roberge was taken by LeFlore County EMS to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is listed in stable condition with trunk internal and a head injury.

Cissell was not injured in the accident.

Both Roberge and Cissell were eastbound on the county road.

The cause of the accident was listed as a domestic animal in roadway. She was wearing her seatbelt. Airbags did not deploy.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Cody Jackson, assisted by Trooper Josh Blake.
