HEAVENER

In a special meeting Thursday, the Heavener School Board approved several adjustments.

Present were President Ralph Perdue Jr., along with board members Danny Yandell, Dylan Roberts and Tim Davis. Michael White was absent.

The Board approved suspending the school’s mask policy effective immediately.

They also approved changing the start and end time of the school day and reduced the time between classes from eight minutes to five minutes. School will now start at 7:55 a.m. and end at 3:10 p.m.

The final adjustment was moving up the end of school from May 19 to May 11, since the school will have met all the required time with the longer days.

Graduation remains on May 8. The eighth grade graduation is 2 p.m. while the senior graduation is 8 p.m.
