The LeFlore County commissioners meet Monday at 9 a.m. in the office of the county commissioners at the courthouse. Among the items to be discussed are closing off the top of Cavanal during bad weather or emergencies and also placing signs on the courthouse lawn, which was tabled last week.
Only two new coronavirus cases in Sunday’s report with one at Cameron and Howe. Active cases are 120.
In sports, Spiro’s baseball game at Heavener Monday has been postponed due to Sunday’s rain. The two teams are scheduled to play a district game Tuesday at Spiro.
There is a light schedule for Monday as this is the start of spring break. In baseball, Arkoma at Central Sallisaw; Keota, Porter at Cameron; Talihina, Weleetka at Clayton; Salina vs. Pocola.
In slow pitch softball, Heavener and Howe are scheduled to play in the Spring Break Bash at Broken Bow. Heavener goes against Stuart and Kiowa while Howe is scheduled to take on Roff and Kiowa. Also, Pocola is scheduled to play Allen.
Brackets for the NCAA Tournament were announced yesterday. Top seeds were Illinois, Baylor, Michigan and Gonzaga. OU, OSU and Oral Roberts also made the tournament.
OU, an eighth seed, plays Missouri Saturday at 6:35 p.m. OSU, given a four seed, takes on Liberty at 5:45 and ORU plays Ohio State Friday at 2 p.m.
After some early fog Monday morning, we should have a nice day with clear skies, a high of 75 and low of 48.
