The Poteau Police Department is searching for Ethan Underwood of Heavener for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, a 30-year-old Poteau resident Thursday night. She was taken by Life Flight to a Little Rock hospital for emergency surgery and is in critical condition.

Anybody with information about Underwood’s location should call (918) 647-8620.

Five new coronavirus cases were reported by the Oklahoma State Department of Health Friday.

In sports, both Howe teams won their semifinal games Friday to advance to the championship games Saturday.

Several games were played Friday. Get your scores on our scoreboard.

In weather, mostly cloudy skies again Saturday with a high of 78 and low of 60.

In other events Saturday, the LeFlore County Republicans will hold their annual county convention at 10 a.m. in the Reynolds Center. Precinct officers, county officers and delegates to the state convention will be elected.

Graveside services for Arvilla Stewart are 1 p.m. at the Blanco Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home.

And the Green Country Ruff Riters will meet at the Coffee Cup in Poteau from 2 to 4 p.m.
