The morning blog 3-9-2021

By CRAIG HALL

Good morning and welcome to the Ledger/LCJ morning blog. I’m Craig Hall with the Ledger and LeFlore County Journal.

Today is March 9, the 68th day of the year. There are 297 days left in the year.

Today’s blog is sponsored by Central National Bank, the oldest and largest bank in LeFlore County. CNB has convenient branches in Heavener, Panama, Pocola, Poteau and Stigler.

There are busy days around Ledger World Headquarters, and then there is Tuesday.

It’s busy on steroids for this afternoon and evening. In addition to the usual tasks associated with getting a weekly newspaper out, and not counting all the other calendar events, in Heavener we have a baseball game, softball game and two soccer matches.

The baseball, softball and first soccer match are expected to start at the same time. My task is to get pictures from each event.

Seriously. It’s not an easy job, but I must conquer it.

The LeFlore County commissioners approved a pay estimate of $217,833 to JoB Construction work on the Conser Road project.

They also tabled a discussion about signs on the courthouse lawn.

For the third time in less than a week, there were no new coronavirus cases in LeFlore County Tuesday.
