Good morning and welcome to the Ledger/LCJ morning podcast for the first day of March of 2021.

LeFlore County had six new coronavirus cases in Sunday’s report by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

Poteau had three new cases, while Bokoshe, Heavener and Shady Point each had one case.

Active cases are 136, up three from Saturday. The county has had 5,258 cases, 5,080 recoveries and 42 deaths from complications due to the virus.

The LeFlore County commissioners meet today at 9 a.m. in the office of the board of county commissioners in the courthouse.

Poteau’s Industrial Authority, Public Works Authority and City Council meet at 7 p.m. tonight at Poteau’s City Hall, 111 Peters Street.

Updated brackets have been released for area basketball tournaments, which start Thursday. Howe’s boys and girls, the Pocola girls and Spiro’s boys are in the area tournaments.

Mostly cloudy skies for Monday in LeFlore County with a slight chance of rain.

The high will be 56 degrees with a low of 38 degrees.

Sunrise is at 6:47 a.m. with sunset at 6:14 p.m.
