Regional games start Saturday

Regional games for Class A and B teams start Saturday, after games were postponed earlier in the week due to the winter weather.

In Class A, Talihina’s boys play Hydro-Eakly in a winner’s bracket game at 8 p.m. at North Rock Creek. Arkoma also is at North Rock Creek and plays Wayne in a loser’s bracket game at 3 p.m.

For the girls, Wister plays Hydro-Eakley at 6 p.m. at North Rock Creek while the Arkoma girls play Wayne at 1 p.m. in a loser’s bracket game.

In Class B Area II, the Cameron and LeFlore girls and boys play in loser’s bracket games at McCurtain with games starting at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

In Area IV, both Whitesboro teams are in the winner’s bracket.

Whitesboro’s girls play Moyers at 6 p.m. in Stringtown. The Bulldogs get Buffalo Valley at 8 p.m., also in Stringtown.

The Class 4A-3A-2A basketball district tournaments scheduled for Friday and Saturday have been moved to Monday and Tuesday. The Friday districts will be played on Monday and the Saturday districts will be played on Tuesday.

In Class 4A, Poteau visits Broken Bow.

Class 3A has Idabel at Heavener; and Spiro at Vian.

For the games at Heavener, there will be 500 tickets available. Anybody wanting a ticket should contact the school. Admission price is $7 per person, which is set by the OSSAA.

All the local 2A teams are at home Tuesday. Gore is at Howe; Central Sallisaw visits Panama and Hulbert travels to Pocola.
