BACHE – Jerry Lynn Suter, 72, of Bache, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021 at McAlester Regional Health Center.

Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Brumley-Mills Chapel in Hartshorne with Pastor Richard Dixon and Tommy McCullar officiating.

He was born on October 31, 1948 in Hartshorne to Robert Vance and Irene Evelyn (Pilgrim) Suter.

He served in the Oklahoma National Guard and married Marilyn Marie Landa on February 17, 1969 in Wilburton. He was a meter tech for Centerpoint Energy.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, whittling, watching his kids and grandkids play sports.  He was a member of the Hartshorne Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Suter; children and spouses Bradley Wayne Suter and Alanna, Ryan Joseph Suter, Brandi Michelle (Suter) Grubbs and David; foster son, Cody Michael Goodspeed; grandchildren and spouses Whitney Knight and husband Caleb, Alec Sean Suter and special friend Paige Tucker, Braden Suter, Trey Grubbs and wife Jacee, Shana Peterson and husband Andrew, Trever Grubbs and Layni Manos; great-granddaughters Kymber Adelyn Knight, Calleigh Knight and Haydn Knight; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Debbie Suter; sisters and brothers-in-law Sharron and Tom Thomason; Phylis Hanley, Mary Katherine and Victor Kuhns, Carolyn Sue and Mike Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert V. and Irene Suter; daughter, Shana Lynn (Suter) Hackworth; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Deborah Suter; nephew, Robert Dean Oliver; brother, Bobby Joe Guevara; and in-laws, James and Delores Collins.

Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.

Active pallbearers are grandsons Alec, Braden, Trey, Trever, Michael and Haydn, foster-son, Michael Goodspeed and great-grandson, Haydn Knight.  Honorary pallbearers are the Centerpoint Energy Co. workers, Raymond Cowen, Terry Rich, Doyle Harris, Danny Oliver and John Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
