Nancy Lynn McClain, 60, of Heavener, was born Feb. 21, 1960 in Poteau to George and Ruth Ellen (Brown) Altstatt and passed away Jan. 21, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Monday at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, with Rev. Howard Huddle officiating. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
Nancy was a longtime resident of the area and a member of Big Creek Baptist Church. She was a pharmacy tech at Green’s Pharmacy in Heavener. Nancy loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Surviving family members are her husband, David McClain, of the home; her father, George Altstatt, of Heavener; her mother-in-law, Lissie McClain, of Heavener; three daughters Sophia McClain of Heavener, Emily Horn and husband Christopher of Beebe, Arkansas, and Shannon Johnson and husband Eric of Cabot, Arkansas; one son Greg McClain and wife Payton of Jacksonville, Arkansas; two sisters Georgia “Doddie” Dean and husband Mike of Heavener, and Carrie “Candy” Irvin and husband Terry of White Hall, Arkansas; one brother Jeffrey “Jeff” Altstatt and wife Shelly “Wiles” of Heavener; 12 grandchildren Justin, Cassidy, Joshua, David, Gunnar, Bryce, Brenlee, Tommy, Addy, Skylar, Carter and Cheston; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends whom loved her very much.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Ellen Altstatt; and her father-in-law, Merle McClain.
Pallbearers are Gilbert Luna, Case Haynes, Kyle Huddleston, Chris Dean, Scott Irvin and Dustin Hoffman.
Viewing is from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
