The 89th annual LeFlore County Tournament starts Monday with games at five locations.
Due to coronavirus and reduced crowds, the top seeds host the games, aside from the fourth-seeded Whitesboro girls hosting #13 Bokoshe at Talihina.
There will be two games at LeFlore, Poteau, Spiro, Talihina and Wister.
The girls play at 4 p.m. with the boys playing at 7 p.m. The top three seeds for the girls #1 Howe, #2 Pocola and #3 Heavener and boys #1 Howe, #2 Panama and #3 Whitesboro have byes in the first round.
Coronavirus is already having an effect on the tournament. The Heavener boys will have to use their junior varsity team against Whitesboro. An official at Heavener’s game at Hartshorne Tuesday tested positive for the virus, making all the players who played be in quarantine. Both Heavener teams come out of quarantine for Tuesday’s games.
