Howe man dies in UTV accident

A 63-year-old Howe man died in a UTV accident Thursday at around 3:27 p.m. 3.7 miles east of Heavener.

Edwin Brown was driving a 2019 Polaris RZR north on a dirt trail on private property. The dirt trail had been washed out and the vehicle rolled twice, ejecting the driver.

David Anders, 50, of Hurst, Texas, was a passenger and refused treatment.

The UTV was equipped with seatbelts, but they were not in use.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Matt Dyer, assisted by LeFlore County EMS, LeFlore County Sheriff’s Department and Heavener Fire Department.
