LeFlore County almost set a new coronavirus record in Tuesday’s report by the Oklahoma Department of Health.
The county had 40 new cases, second only to the 41 new cases on Sept. 8. Also, one Heavener male in the 65-and-over age group died from coronavirus or from complications due to the virus.
Poteau had an additional 15 new cases, Wister had six, Cameron and Spiro had five, Talihina four, Pocola and Shady Point two and Howe one.
The county has 206 active cases, up 12 from Monday. Overall, LeFlore County has had 1,607 cases, 1,380 recoveries and 21 deaths from the virus or complications due to coronavirus.
