It’s Thursday night football for Week 7 games due to fall break.
All seven teams are scheduled to play in district games Thursday. The key word is scheduled as two games were lost last week with coronavirus.
We have one county vs. county matchup along with a pair of heavyweights coming to the county tonight.
Heavener visits Spiro in the 51st matchup between the schools in a rivalry that dates back to 1926. Spiro is 4-1 overall, 2-1 in district play and tied for second in the district. Heavener is 1-5 and 0-3 in district play.
The game can be heard tonight on Ledgerlcj.live at 7 p.m. with a scoreboard show later after the game concludes with scores on games involving local teams.
Class 2A-5’s heavyweights are visiting LeFlore County Thursday night.
Cascia Hall (5-1 and 3-0) visits Panama (3-3 and 2-1) while Vian (5-1 and 2-1) makes the trip to Pocola (1-5 and 0-3).
It’s never a good time to play Vian, especially after the Wolverines are coming off a 7-6 loss at Cascia Hall last week.
Poteau will go for its 21st straight district win as the Pirates (4-2, 3-0) play host to Stilwell (1-5 and 0-3) in District 4A-4 play.
Talihina (0-2) is scheduled to play its first game in more than a month as the Golden Tigers are at Warner (3-3, 1-2).
Arkoma is also expected to play its first district game after last week’s contest with Summit Christian was postponed. The Mustangs (4-1, 0-0) visit Cave Springs (0-5, 0-1).
