On a night of remembrance, Heavener failed to play a very memorable game when the Wolves hosted Valliant in a non-district football game Friday night.
With many fans wearing patriotic clothing and hats to remember the tragedy that happened 19 years ago, the Wolves failed in their opportunity to improve to 2-0 for the first time since 2005.
Heavener whiffed on an early opportunity and Valliant used an explosive offense and stout defense to run over the Wolves, 40-8.
Both teams are 1-1. Heavener takes its first road trip to the season Friday to Central Sallisaw while Valliant plays Coalgate.
