SUMMERFIELD – Barbara Wyota Deere, 79, of Summerfield, passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020 in Summerfield and was born Sept. 14, 1940 in Summerfield to Willie and Lurahree (Allison) Walden.
Private services will be held, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
Barbara was retired from Kiamichi Electric as a billing supervisor, where she worked for over 25 years. She was active in her community and loved to serve those who lived in it. She helped prepare meals every Tuesday at the Summerfield Community Center for many years. She was active in the Busy Bee Quilting Club and would accompany James to many horse races over the years to help cheer on a horse that they would have racing. Barbara loved her family more than anything in the world, and especially the time she got to spend with her great grandchildren. She will be missed by many.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James Deere, of the home; two sons Michael and Sherry Deere of Summerfield; and Joe and Cindy Deere of Poteau; brothers Neil and Lynn Walden of Reichert, and Rick and Sharon Walden of Roland; sister, Debbie Coleman, of Muskogee; granddaughters Marcie Barnes of Shady Point, Kacie and Dillion Fields of Poteau, Breanna and Tyler Dial of Farmington, Arkansas, and Heather Deere of Williamsburg, Virginia; six great grandchildren; and special friends Molly Turner and Jean Gill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Doyle and Jackie Walden; and sister, Carolyn Dwillis.
The family thanks Heart of Hospice for the care and comfort in her last few weeks and the many people who called and visited.
